FADO Performance Art Centre is pleased to present two engagements with performance artist and educator, BBB Johannes Deimling, both presented in the context of the 7A*11D International Festival of Performance Art.
The first is a performance art workshop entitled, What is Important?. This intensive workshop takes place in the 5-days leading up to the festival dates. Open to local artists working at any level of their practices or those new to performance practice entirely, the workshop culminates in a public showing of works in progress.
FADO is also pleased to present a new performance by BBB Johannes Deimling during the festival, entitled Every Rose Has A Thorn. Only a very few images of this performance exists as Deimling asked all but the festival photographer to put down their cameras during the performance.
7A*11D is a not-for-profit, artist-driven collective that curates and produces English Canada’s oldest ongoing biennial of performance art. 7A*11D was established in 1997 by a group of performance artists, collectives, and organizers, eager to develop a forum for performance art in Toronto. The first 7A*11D International Festival of Performance Art, in August 1997, presented the work of 60 local, national and international artists.
