Helge Meyer has been presenting solo, duo and collaborative performance art in Europe, Asia, Canada, South America, Australia and the USA since 1998. He is one half of the performance art group System HM2T with Marco Teubner (established in 1998) and since 2000 he has been performing as a member of Black Market International. Meyer teaches performance art workshops and theoretical classes at the University of Hildesheim and High School in Germany. As a researcher he is interested in questions of pain, cooperation and the history of images. In 2008 he received his PhD in Art Science/Art History from the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, publishing his dissertation as a book that same year.
