My name is Germaine Liu. I enjoy working and playing through various modalities. I compose, make improvise music, write/sing/play songs, play with percussion and found objects, make sound art and installations with my partner Mark Zurawinski, and other pals, and enjoy a kind of making that is connected to the five senses. My work indulges in the permeability between touch/movement/listening and their relationship to topography and circumstances. 

In my practice, I am dedicated to creating meaningful gatherings that investigate the dimensions of generosity, agency, intercorporeality, within the scope of inclusivity, exclusivity, belonging and unconditional love. I have desires and intentions to make and honour collaborative joyful spaces, friendships, and celebrate interdependent collectivism in my work. Some upcoming performances/projects include: Inflow Polyphony at Lumen Festival (co-collaboration with Meghan Cheng and Mark Zurawinski), and Imaginary Percussion Ensemble performance (with Joe Sorbara and Mark Zurawinski) at Power Ball/Power Plant Contemporary.
