Emerging Artists
After a 10-year hiatus, FADO’s Emerging Artists Series is back in 2025!
This years offerings include two projects, curated by Jordan King and Shalon Webber-Heffernan, and introducing our Emerging Artists Series LAB.
Future Dances
Dancemakers and FADO team up for this speculative choreography project in which 8 artists create a dancework for the year 2074.
Emerging Artists Series LAB
Questions are asked, methods chosen, and outcomes are not guaranteed. Results vary—from podcasts to public performance experiments, and everything in between.
The 2025 Emerging Artists Series LABists are: Christina Anna Trutriak, James Knott and Vanessa Godden.
not knowing is the most intimate | curated by Shalon Webber-Heffernan
Inspired by the Buddhist koan, “not knowing is the most intimate,” the series embraces the uncertainty of our contemporary emotional landscapes, inviting both artists and audiences to move into the discomfort of uncharted waters.
Walk-and-Talk
In FADO’s newest series, we highlight and investigate two foundational gestures of the performance art vocabulary—walking, talking—through performances and discursive interventions that explore their intrinsic mutual imbrication.
Walk with us.
