Sky Fairchild-Waller

Sky Fairchild-Waller is an artist, producer, and manager working in performance, video, and installation. He attended the National Ballet School of Canada, completed his formal education at York University and the University of California, Berkeley, and is an alum of the Jeux de Canada Games National Artist Program and Metcalf Foundation Performing Arts Program. He has contributed to the Canadian Theatre Review, ADONE Magazine, The Dance Current Magazine, Evi-Dance Radio/CIUT 89.5FM, and has been an invited presenter at l'Association des commissaires des arts du Québec, McMaster University, the University of Toronto, and York University. Prior to serving as the Development Manager for the Dancer Transition Resource Centre in Toronto and Company Advisor for Belinda McGuire Dance Projects in New York City, Sky worked for The Harriet Tubman Institute, Harbourfront Centre, and the Canadian Opera Company.


Sky was 1 of 10 Royal Bank of Canada National Scholarship winners and is a 3-time recipient of the Koerner Foundation's Award in Performing Arts. His performance and video work has been supported by Die Schweizerische Post, the Canada Council for the Arts, and presented in Assisi, Boston, Brooklyn, Cairo, Charlottetown, Dawson City, Edinburgh, Edmonton, Mississauga, Montréal, New Delhi, Philadelphia, Saint John, São Paulo, Sarnia, Toronto, Turin, Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg, and Zürich. As an interpreter, he has performed in work by Diane Borsato, Susan Cash, Brendan Fernandes, David Frankovich, John Greyson, Derek Liddington, Andrea Nann, Eroca Nicols, Tracey Norman, Yoshi Oida, Tino Sehgal, and Twyla Tharp, with credits including the 7a11d International Festival of Performance Art, Art Gallery of Ontario, Canadian Opera Company, Dancemakers, Harbourfront Centre, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, Scottish Ballet, and Toronto International Film Festival.
